This is Rie Nemoto’s solo debut album, which she created based on her son’s memory in utero, “ a fun adventure with a little light”. She has been active as a violinist in a wide range of music genres from classical music to J-POP, including majiko and Miwa Sasagawa. She has played a particularly impressive violin part in the works and live performances of haruka nakamura. In addition to her high technique of violin backed by classical background, she also plays piano and percussion. Her ability as a multi-instrumentalist and creative arrangements are beautifully captured in this album.

“In mummy’s tummy, I met a little light, and saw lots of lines that looked like they were drawn by a pencil. I was very excited and decided which direction to go.”

The album opens with “KIRO” (means “Crossroads”), which is a violin solo piece composed from the image of her son starting the adventure. The dignified sound of the violin contains her statement as a violinist. The story progresses as an adventure of her son and a little light. The delicate and graceful melody of the violin is accompanied by piano and percussion, creating a dreamy sound journey that is sometimes nostalgic and sometimes exciting. Guest artists such as haruka nakamura (Sound Design, Guitar), Isao Saito (Percussion), Seigen Tokuzawa (Cello), and Gen Tanabe (Electric Guitar) added rich colours to the album.

The album comes with the 28P picture book by illustrator Akira Kusaka. In the picture book, Akira expressed the world of the fantastic story delicately in response to Rie’s beautiful and dreamy music.
